Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Opens on PUP list
Brooks (knee) was placed on the Seahawks' active/PUP list Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Brooks was leading the NFL in tackles (161) at the time he suffered a torn ACL in Week 17 of last season, and he's still on the road to recovery. The 2020 first-round pick has been a great signal caller for Seattle's defense since being drafted, and he'll get some help in the linebacking corps with the return of Seahawks legend Bobby Wagner in 2023. Head coach Pete Carroll expressed hope that Brooks will be ready to go for the Seahawks' Sept. 10 season opener versus the Rams.

Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Making progress in recovery
Brooks (knee) posted a video this week of himself running drills on the field, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Brooks suffered a torn ACL in Week 17, which currently leaves his status for the start of training camp and possibly the beginning of the season in question. However, the 25-year-old appears to be moving well in the video, which could be a sign that he is ahead of schedule.

Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Playing out rookie contract in 2023
The Seahawks didn't pick up the fifth-year option on Brooks' (knee) rookie contract by Monday's deadline, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
The 27th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Brooks has been hyper productive the last two seasons, piling up 345 tackles in 33 games during that span. His 2022 campaign was abbreviated, though, after he suffered a torn ACL in Week 17. While he remains in recovery mode, coach Pete Carroll expressed optimism about Brooks' progress on April 19, telling John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site that the inside linebacker may be available by training camp. Whenever he gets back on the field, Brooks will be operating under an expiring contract.

Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Hopeful for training camp
Seahawks head coach Pete Carrol said Wednesday that Brooks (knee) is making progress in his recovery from the ACL tear he suffered in the team's Week 17 win over the Jets on Jan. 1, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Brooks underwent surgery on his knee a few weeks later and is apparently bouncing back well nearly three months removed from the procedure. Before injuring his knee, Brooks was in the midst of another productive campaign, as he racked up an impressive 161 tackles to go with five pass breakups, one sack and one forced fumble in 16 games.

Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Progressing well after surgery
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Brooks (knee) is "doing really well" in his recovery but remains without a specific timeline to return to the field, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Brooks suffered a torn ACL in Week 17, and based off Carroll's comments, the Seahawks are optimistic that the linebacker's recovery is on schedule and that he'll be able to bounce back. At this stage, however, the 25-year-old isn't guaranteed to be ready for the start of the 2023 season. In spite of missing the Seahawks' regular-season finale and postseason loss to the 49ers, Brooks remained one of the most productive linebackers in IDP leagues, finishing with 161 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery over 16 appearances.

Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Undergoes surgery Thursday
Brooks announced via Instagram that he underwent surgery Thursday to address the torn ACL in his right knee, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Brooks sustained this injury during the Week 17 win over the Jets, causing him to finish the 2022 campaign with 161 tackles over 16 games. This total still ranked sixth among all tacklers this regular season despite having his season cut one game short. Brooks did add that Thursday's operation was successful, per Henderson, though the typical nine-month rehab process for this injury makes it rather unlikely he'll be ready to suit up for the 2023 season opener.

Brooks' move to season-ending IR was inevitable after he was confirmed to have suffered a torn ACL in his knee during this past Sunday's win over the Jets. Head coach Pete Carroll said Brooks will undergo surgery to address the injury once the swelling in his knee subsides. The 25-year-old linebacker was named a Pro Bowl alternate this season after racking up a team-high 161 tackles to go with five pass breakups, one sack and one forced fumble in 16 games. Given the timing of his ACL surgery, Brooks could be in danger of opening training camp on the PUP list and may have to miss some game action to begin the 2023 season.

Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Done for season
Brooks suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's win over the Jets, which will end his season early, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Brooks could not put any weight on his leg upon suffering the injury, and after a trip to the team's medical tent, he was carted off the field to the locker room. Unfortunately, after further testing and a postgame MRI, it was revealed the star linebacker suffered a torn ACL. This is certainly bad news for the Seahawks ahead of their Week 18 game with the Rams and beyond, if they're able to grab the last wild-card spot in the NFC. The injury could also affect his status to open next season, considering the timing of the injury.

Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Will not return
Brooks (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jets.
Brooks suffered what appeared to be a significant injury that led to immediate attention from a doctor and led to him being unable to put any weight on his leg. He did enter the team's medical tent right immediately and then he was ultimately carted off the field and to the locker room. This news is certainly a significant blow to the Seahawks and their defense as they push for a playoff spot in the last two weeks of the season. Tanner Muse has stepped into replace him at inside linebacker.

Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Getting tests done on knee
Coach Pete Carroll said Brooks is undergoing tests on the knee injury that forced him from Sunday's win against the Jets, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Brooks entered Week 17 second in the NFL with 157 tackles, and he tacked on four more before exiting in the second quarter. Carroll noted the Seahawks "got our fingers crossed," so even though the inside linebacker wasn't able to put any weight on his leg at the time he suffered the injury, he may have avoided a worst-case scenario. The aforementioned tests likely will determine if Brooks misses the regular-season finale versus the Rams.
