Ravens' Melvin Gordon: Headed to Baltimore
Gordon agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $3.1 million with the Ravens on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
From 2020-2021, Gordon submitted back-to-back seasons with at least 900 rushing yards and totaled 20 touchdowns during that stretch. The veteran running back was competing for touches with Javonte Williams to begin 2022, but Gordon struggled with fumbling issues when given a full-time workload following Williams' season-ending injury and was ultimately released in mid-November. In Baltimore, Gordon figures to start out as a depth option behind J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, who are both expected to be healthy after battling serious injuries the past two years; however, the Wisconsin product could carve out a role if he can rectify his fumbling concerns, which have plagued him his entire career.

Melvin Gordon: Practice squad contract expires
Gordon's practice squad contract with Kansas City expired Tuesday, Charles Goldman of the USA Today reports.
The Chiefs signed Gordon to their practice squad back in November after he was let go by the Broncos, but he wasn't elevated for game action at any point by the eventual Super Bowl LVII champions. Given that Isiah Pacheco, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and La'Mical Perine are the only running backs Kansas City has under contract for 2023, it's possible that Gordon, who turns 30 in April, could re-sign with the team as a depth option. The 2015 first-round pick could also look for an opportunity with another franchise where he might have a clearer path to backfield touches in 2023.
