The Hornets waived Sneed on Thursday.

  • Nets' Trendon Watford: Joining Brooklyn

The Nets signed Watford to a standard, non-guaranteed contract Thursday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Watford will join the Nets after spending the first two seasons of his career with the Trail Blazers. In 2022-23, he averaged 7.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19.1 minutes across 62 appearances. Watford will likely compete for a depth role in Brooklyn's forward rotation.

  • Desmond Bane SG | MEM

Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Set to play in preseason

Bane (toe) said Thursday that expects to be a full-go for the preseason in the end of September, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

Bane underwent surgery on his right big toe in May but is expected to be fully healthy for the 2023-24 campaign. With Ja Morant (suspension) out for the first 25 games of the season, the 25-year-old forward will likely be the focal point of Memphis' offense.

  • Deni Avdija SF | WAS

Wizards' Deni Avdija: Skipping FIBA World Cup

Avdija won't play for the Israeli national team during the FIBA Basketball World Cup later this month after the Wizards barred him from participating while he manages a hip injury, Albert Lee of BulletsForever.com reports.

Avdija missed the final four games of the regular season while dealing with elbow bursitis, but it's another injury that will keep him from playing for his home country this summer. The 22-year-old didn't show up on Washington's injury report at any point in 2022-23 due to a hip issue, so the organization may just be exercising some extra caution with the young forward by having him skip out on the international tournament. At this stage, Avdija is likely to be good to go for training camp, when he'll be joined by several new faces on an overhauled Washington roster. Avdija, Kyle Kuzma, Daniel Gafford, Delon Wright and Corey Kispert are the Wizards' only regular rotation players from 2022-23 that are still on the roster.

  • 76ers' Montrezl Harrell: Suffers knee injury

Harrell was diagnosed with a torn ACL and meniscus after undergoing an MRI on his right knee Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Harrell re-signed with the 76ers this offseason on a one-year deal, but his status for the 2023-24 campaign is now in jeopardy. He was dealing with right knee swelling after a recent workout and opted to undergo an MRI which revealed a significant injury. While it's unclear exactly how long he'll be out, it's safe to assume he'll miss most, if not all, of next season. Harrell's expected absence leaves Paul Reed and Mo Bamba as the main center options behind starter Joel Embiid.

  • Spurs' Devonte' Graham: Suspended two games

The NBA announced Wednesday that Graham has been suspended two games without pay for pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of impaired driving stemming from his July 2022 arrest.

Graham's arrest dates back to his time with the Pelicans, with whom he spent the 2021-22 season and most of the 2022-23 campaign prior to being dealt to the Spurs in February. In 20 appearances after arriving in San Antonio, the 28-year-old guard averaged 13.0 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 26.4 minutes per contest. With the Spurs adding Cameron Payne to the roster this offseason and with Devin Vassell back healthy after missing most of the second half of the the past season, Graham is expected to be a depth piece in the backcourt when he returns from his suspension.

The Rockets signed Williams to a one-year deal Tuesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Williams made just five appearances for the Trail Blazers in 2022-23 and averaged 10.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 25.2 minutes. He will likely compete for a depth role in the backcourt in Houston.

  • Buddy Boeheim SG | DET

Pistons' Buddy Boeheim: Inks deal with Detroit
