  • Bengals' Charlie Jones: Exits Thursday's practice

Jones left Thursday's practice on a cart after trainers checked out his left arm, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Conway notes that prior to suffering his injury, Jones hauled in an impressive TD catch during the session. The 2023 fourth-rounder currently slots in behind the Bengals' top WR trio of Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, which caps his short-term fantasy value, but assuming his arm issue isn't serious, Jones is in line to work in a complementary pass-catching role for the team as a rookie.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Impressing in camp

Irwin is the front-runner for the Bengals' No. 4 receiver role, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Irwin has been making plays all summer, according to Goldsmith. Most recently, boxing out Cam Taylor-Britt for a leaping catch in the back corner of the endzone Thursday. The 27-year-old is embarking on his fifth season with Cincinnati, but he's yet to hold down a consistent role in the offense. However, he did set career highs last season with nine games played and 15 receptions on 23 targets for 231 yards. He also recorded four touchdowns, proving he can be a red zone target in the Bengals' offense, as he did in camp Thursday.

  • Bengals' Trayveon Williams: Slated to miss time

Williams was diagnosed Thursday with a mild right ankle sprain and is expectd to miss a couple of weeks, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.

Williams, who entered training camp in contention for the top backup role behind starting back Joe Mixon, thus is in line to miss the Bengals' preseason opener, at a minimum. In his looming absence, added backfield reps will be available for Chase Brown and Chris Evans.

  • Bengals' Jonah Williams: Participating in camp

Williams (kneecap) participated in the first week of Bengals training camp, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

After a February knee surgery, a March trade request and a position switch to right tackle, Williams is entrenched with the Bengals' first-team offense during the early stages of camp. The former left tackle has started all 42 games he's played in over three NFL seasons. With Orlando Brown now at that position, Williams should play on the other side if he remains healthy for 2023.

  • Bengals' Joseph Ossai: Playing again

Ossai (shoulder) participated in practice Monday.

The defensive end missed the Bengals' spring minicamp session after having surgery to repair a torn labrum following the 2022 campaign. The 2021 third-round pick missed his rookie year with a meniscus injury but returned to play 16 games in a backup role last season. He is slotted into a depth position again as Week 1 draws closer.

  • Bengals' Trayveon Williams: Dealing with ankle sprain

Williams, who was carted off the practice field Tuesday, is thought to have suffered a mild ankle sprain, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The report suggests that Williams will likely miss a couple of weeks, assuming the initial diagnosis is confirmed. It seems safe to assume the running back won't play in the Bengals' preseason opener, but it appears as though Williams avoided a serious injury and will be able to re-enter the backup mix behind starter Joe Mixon before too long. While he's sidelined, added RB reps will be available for Chase Brown and Chris Evans.

  • Bengals' Trayveon Williams: Exits with leg injury

Williams suffered an apparent leg injury Tuesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

It's too early to know for sure, but initial reports make it sound like the injury could be serious. Williams is entering his fifth pro season and has mostly played special teams to date, but the Bengals' lack of backfield depth behind Joe Mixon gives him a chance at the third-down role. The team otherwise has Chase Brown, Chris Evans and a couple undrafted rookies competing for spots in camp.

  • Bengals' Trey Hendrickson: Banged up

Hendrickson is dealing with a minor lower-body injury, according to head coach Zac Taylor, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

It's not clear how much time Hendrickson may miss, or if he'll be able to compete in the team's first preseason game, Aug. 11. However, considering the importance of the 28-year-old's presence on the Bengals' defensive front, it's likely the team will be cautious with him.

  • Bengals' Drue Chrisman: Returning to practice

Chrisman returned to practice Monday after he spent a week in the hospital with an undisclosed injury, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Chrisman was released from the hospital Friday and he and the team have chosen not to comment on what his medical emergency was. Now cleared to practice and presumably recovered, Chrisman is competing with rookie Brad Robbins for the team's punter duties for the 2023 season.
