Ravens' Geno Stone: Absent from practice
Stone (ankle) was the only Raven not at camp Tuesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Stone tweaked his ankle Monday and left practice, leading to him not participating in camp Tuesday. The 2020 seventh-round pick appeared in all 17 games for the Ravens last year and tallied 38 tackles, one pass breakup and one forced fumble. Once he's healthy, the 24-year-old will compete for a backup safety role ahead of the coming season.

Ravens' Geno Stone: Leaves practice
Stone left practice Monday with a left leg injury, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said after practice that he needed to find out more about the injury. The safety played in all 17 games (including seven starts) last season and recorded 38 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in that span. Stone is competing for a reserve safety role for 2023.

Stone made a career-high seven starts at safety as Marcus Williams dealt with a wrist injury in 2022. He will return in a depth role despite the Ravens previously choosing not to tender Stone as a restricted free agent.

Stone recorded seven tackles (seven solo), a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in Sunday's 23-20 win versus the Browns.
Stone iced away Sunday's win as he forced and recovered a fumble from wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones on the final play of the game. After playing just 12 defensive snaps over the first four weeks, the free safety has seen his playing time increase in each of the last three contests, and he lined up on every defensive snap against Cleveland. Stone will continue to see prominent usage so long as Marcus Williams (wrist) remains on IR this season.

Stone took over for Williams in Monday's win over the Bengals, playing a season-high 32 defensive snaps and recording two solo tackles. The 23-year-old will have big shoes to fill, as Williams had already delivered three interceptions and five passes defensed in the first four weeks of the season.

Stone regularly contributed both on special teams and as a backup safety for the Ravens last season, totaling 21 tackles and one interception while also appearing on 279 special teams snaps over 15 games with one start. The third-year defensive back should be first in line for a rotational role behind Chuck Clark and Marcus Williams, with DeShon Elliott likely departing in free agency.
