Jackson (Achilles) participated in training camp practice Thursday, Augusta Stone and Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Jackson has been working his way back from an Achilles injury that he suffered in Week 10 against the Falcons. He was present at OTAs in June, but this was the first time he's taken the field as he worked with 2021 first-round pick Jaycee Horn. Jackson started at cornerback opposite Horn last season and should reclaim that role once he's fully healthy.

Jackson (Achilles) should be ready for the start of training camp, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Jackson was placed on injured reserve in November after he tore his Achilles tendon in Week 10 against the Falcons. The 27-year-old has been present at OTAs but has yet to participate as he continues to rehab from his injury. Last season, Jackson started at cornerback opposite 2021 first-round pick Jaycee Horn (ankle) and he should reclaim a key role in the Panthers' secondary once he's fully up to speed.

Panthers' Donte Jackson: Unavailable to start OTAs
Jackson (Achilles) was present Tuesday but didn't participate in the first day of Carolina's OTAs, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
This isn't surprising, as Jackson is still recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered last November, and it remains unclear when he'll be able to play again. The Panthers reworked Jackson's contract this offseason to create some cap savings, and whenever he's cleared, he figures to compete for the starting cornerback job opposite Jaycee Horn.

Panthers' Donte Jackson: Adjusts contract
Jackson (Achilles) restructured his contract with the Panthers on Thursday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Jackson suffered a season-ending torn Achilles in November, and although he could be ready for the start of the season, he'll do so with a reworked contract. The cap savings this will create for Carolina is not yet clear, but Jackson was set for a $13.5 million cap hit in 2023, and part of the restructured deal will result in him getting a $4 million roster bonus, David Newton of ESPN.com reports. When healthy, Jackson should be one of the team's starting corners opposite Jaycee Horn.

Jackson will miss the rest of the 2022 season after being diagnosed Friday with a torn Achilles' tendon, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The 27-year-old was injured in the fourth quarter of a 25-15 win over the Falcons on Thursday. His absence for the rest of the season likely pushes CJ Henderson and Keith Taylor into larger roles alongside 2021 first-round pick Jaycee Horn. Jackson will spend the rest of the season focusing on rehab as he enters the second season of a three-year, $35 million contract in 2023.
