Cowboys' Zack Martin: Officially holding out
Martin (undisclosed) was absent from training camp Tuesday due to his contract dispute, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Martin, who is debatably the best offensive lineman in football, is currently being paid $6.5 million per year less than the highest-paid guard and $11 million per year less than the highest-paid offensive lineman. The 32-year-old was a first-team All-Pro last season, his eighth All-Pro nod in a nine-year career. The Cowboys and Martin have been discussing a new contract, but nothing has come of those conversations so far.

Cowboys' Zack Martin: May sit out training camp
Martin (undisclosed) is considering a training camp holdout due to dissatisfaction with his contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Martin reportedly believes he's "woefully underpaid relative to the market" and that the Cowboys have expressed disinterest in restructuring his deal. The six-time All-Pro signed a six-year, $84 million contract with the Cowboys back in 2018, but that contract was amended in each of the 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons. The 32-year-old remains one of the league's top guards and has only missed one game over the last two seasons, that being due to a short stint on the COVID-19 list.

Cowboys' Zack Martin: Sidelined during minicamp
Martin (undisclosed) has revealed he's been held out this spring with a soft tissue injury, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Though Martin hasn't participated in football activities thus far, he insists it's more precautionary than anything. The superstar guard told reporters that he's "... fine. They're [Cowboys] are just being smart, making sure I get to training camp feeling ready to rock." It makes sense why Dallas is being careful with its veteran offensive lineman, as Martin has racked up eight All-Pro selections and Pro Bowl appearances in his nine-year NFL career.
