Broncos' Mike Purcell: Lands on NFI list
Purcell (knee) was placed on the active/non-football injury list Sunday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Purcell played through a knee injury last season and ended up undergoing minor offseason surgery to repair it. However, it appears the 32-year-old is still recovering from the procedure, which also forced him to miss OTAs earlier this spring. He will be eligible to return once he can pass a physical.

Purcell is being held out of OTAs as he recovers from minor offseason knee surgery, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Purcell appeared in all 17 games for the Broncos last season, so it's unlikely his offseason procedure will cause him to miss much time, although it's not yet clear if he'll be available at the start of training camp. When healthy, Purcell should play a significant role in the team's defensive line rotation.

Broncos' Mike Purcell: Active for Week 8
Purcell (knee) will play in Sunday's Week 8 game versus the Jaguars.
Purcell was limited this week at practice while nursing a hamstring issue, but he was able to log a full session Friday and is ready to go for Sunday's contest. The defensive tackle matched his season high with five tackles in Week 7 against the Jets, and he is now up to 22 total tackles -- including 1.5 sacks -- on the campaign over seven games.

Broncos' Mike Purcell: Records first sack of season
Purcell recorded five solo tackles and one sack during Sunday's 11-10 win over the 49ers.
Purcell chased Jimmy Garoppolo out of the back of the end zone in the third quarter to notch his first sack of the campaign and a pivotal safety for the Broncos. It was the undrafted defensive tackle's third-career sack across seven seasons.
