Giants' D.J. Davidson: Lands on PUP list
The Giants placed Davidson (knee) on the active/PUP list Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Davidson is still working his way back from a torn ACL suffered last October. The 2022 fifth-rounder played 40 defensive snaps as a rookie before his injury. Davidson will try to carve out a rotational role up front in his second season.

Giants' D.J. Davidson: Heads to injured reserve
The Giants placed Davidson (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Davidson suffered a torn ACL during the third quarter in the team's London game against the Packers in Week 5, and he'll now head to IR and miss the rest of the 2022 campaign as a result. Through New York's first five contests, the 2022 fifth-round pick registered four tackles on 40 defensive snaps in that span. Dexter Lawrence and Justin Ellis are now the only remaining nose tackles on the Giants' active roster, but Henry Mondeaux and rookie Ryder Anderson are candidates for a promotion to the team's 53-man squad.

Giants' D.J. Davidson: Likely to miss time with MCL sprain
Davidson suffered an MCL sprain during Sunday's 27-22 win over the Packers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The 25-year-old was carted off the field in the fourth quarter during Sunday's contest versus Green Bay, and he's since been diagnosed with an MCL sprain and will likely miss time after further tests reveal the severity of the injury. While Davidson seems unlikely to suit up Sunday against the Ravens, Justin Ellis should see a spike is usage behind starter Dexter Lawrence for the time being.

Giants' D.J. Davidson: Carted off Sunday
Davidson (ankle) is being carted off the field in Sunday's contest against Green Bay, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Davidson was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of Sunday's matchup after suffering an ankle injury, but was able to walk to the cart. Dexter Lawrence and Justin Ellis will continue to serve as New York's primary nose tackles.

Giants' D.J. Davidson: In battle for roster spot
Davidson is among a group of Giants defensive linemen vying for a spot on the initial 53-man roster, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Davidson, Nick Williams, Justin Ellis and Jalyn Holmes appear to be in competition for three roster spots along the defensive line. Duggan speculates Davidson's status as a fifth-round pick could give him an edge, though the Arizona State product has had some rough moments in camp. Davidson also limped off the field in Sunday's preseason contest against Cincinnati, but he participated in one-on-ones in joint practice with the Jets on Thursday, per Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic.

Giants' D.J. Davidson: New York adds in fifth round
The Giants selected Davidson in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 147th overall.
Davidson (6-foot-3, 327 pounds) is a big two-gap tackle out of Arizona State, one who figures to compete for playing time at the nose tackle position for the Giants. He's unlikely to show up on the box score all that much, but Davidson might help keep the Giants linebackers clean from blockers.
