49ers' Kalia Davis: Not activated by 49ers
Davis' (knee) 21-day window to be activated by the team after getting designated to return from the reserve/non-football injury list has come to a close, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Davis has practiced with the team for the last three weeks but will no longer be able to after not getting activated. The 49ers are healthy on their interior defensive line entering the playoffs, so they plan on sticking to their original plan of "redshirting" Davis during his rookie campaign to ensure his health for the 2023 season.

49ers' Kalia Davis: Nears return from reserve NFI list
San Francisco designated Davis (undisclosed) to return from its reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The move opens a 21-day practice window during which the 49ers will be allowed to activate him; otherwise he'd need to return to their NFI list for the remainder of the season. If healthy, the rookie sixth-rounder would provide some depth at defensive tackle behind Akeem Spence and T.Y. McGill.

49ers' Kalia Davis: Moved to reserve NFI list
Davis (undisclosed) was placed on the 49ers' reserve/non-football injury list, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Davis opened training camp on San Francisco's active/NFI list, and he will now be forced to sit out at least the first four games of the regular season. The rookie sixth-round pick should help bolster the 49ers' defensive tackle position behind Kevin Givens and Hassan Ridgeway when healthy this year.

Davis (undisclosed) was placed on the active/non-football injury list Tuesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Davis was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 Draft by the 49ers, and he's expected to compete for a spot in their defensive line rotation. Davis will work to get back on the field, so he can prove that is where he belongs.

The 49ers selected Davis in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 220th overall.
Davis is a bigger body (6-foot-1, 302 pounds) that can eat up blocks in the middle, but he actually was a three-star linebacker recruit and started his first two seasons at linebacker with UCF before transitioning to the defensive line. An ACL injury ended his redshirt senior season early, but Davis is expected to be healthy in time for the 2022 campaign.
